How much does Carpet Underlay cost?

Just treated yourself to a luxurious new carpet and wonder how much it will set you back if you decide to install underlay with it? Underlay may seem like an unnecessary cost when you've just forked out for a new carpet; however, underlay doesn't have to break the bank, and there are so many benefits to investing in it, which can save you money in the long run.
What is the average price of Carpet Underlay?
Carpet underlay is calculated per square metre, and depending on the quality of the product and where you buy it from, you can expect to pay anywhere between £2-£8 for each square metre. The better quality and performance of the underlay, the more it will cost you; however, products around £5 are recommended, and you shouldn't need to spend any more than that.
Do I need to purchase extras?
If you want to install your carpet underlay yourself, you're going to need a few extras! Unless you've already got them, you will need to purchase some carpet grippers, adhesive and tape, but not to worry, these items shouldn't add too much extra to the overall cost of your project! For example, we sell a 120ft pack of gripper rods for £19.99 or a 500ft box for £49.95, with your room's size determining how many of these you will need to purchase. Our gripper adhesive is £6.99, and we also have Royale Binder carpet underlay tape on offer for £8.95.
What about delivery charges?
You may think that because carpet underlay is a large and heavy product, that it's going to cost you a fortune for it to be delivered, but that doesn't have to be the case at all. Here at Buy Carpet Underlay, our delivery cost entirely depends on the price of your order. For example, for orders up to £37.50, we charge £11.20, and for orders between £100 and £125 will cost you £29.40 for delivery.
Installation fees
If you're planning on paying a professional to fit your underlay, this will also increase the cost. However, who's to say you can't install it yourself! Underlay is very straightforward to install; even if you're not necessarily a DIY wizz, it is simple to lay, even without any help from friends or family.
